Corpus Christi, Texas- Wednesday, November 20, 2019- Visit Corpus Christi is proud to announce that the construction of the H-E-B Holiday Tree starts today to kick off the 2019 Holiday Season at The Water’s Edge Park in Downtown Corpus Christi.
During the month of December, visitors and residents alike can enjoy the magical feeling of the holidays on the Corpus Christi Bayfront. With more than 7,000 lights, 2,000 ornaments and a dazzling nativity star, this six-story tall artificial holiday tree is the perfect holiday wonderland. 2018 marked the first year that this majestic tree became part of the landscape during the holiday season and instantly became the most popular area to take selfies, family pictures and even served as an important background for marriage proposals.
“Merry Days by the Bay is a wonderful month-long showcase of our community holiday traditions for December 2019 that helps draw visitors from out of town,” said Alyssa Barrera Mason, Interim CEO of Visit Corpus Christi. “In 2018 we had an increase in the number of visitors to our city of 4% in comparison with December of 2016. We are thrilled that H-E-B has provided this spectacular centerpiece of the festivities.”
H-E-B representatives said they are excited to provide Corpus Christi with a Holiday tree to celebrate the Season.
“We love being a community partner in Corpus Christi and are proud to provide a central component to the festivities,” said Regina Garcia, H-E-B Senior Manager of Public Affairs. “We believe the tree brought more tourists to Corpus Christi last year and we look forward to the celebration year after year.”
