COMMON PASSWORD PROBLEMS

I Did Not Receive My Password.  If you did not receive your password by e-mail within 30 minutes, you either typed your e-mail address incorrectly when you created your profile, or the e-mail ended up in your e-mail provider's spam filter - check to see if it is there. If you still can't find it, fill out the form below and you will be sent a new password.

*NEW PASSWORDS ARE SENT OUT ON MONDAY ONLY

My Password Does Not Work.  The random password you are issued is case sensitive - you have to type it in UPPERCASE. It will always work if you type your profile name and password correctly.

OTHER COMMON PROBLEMS

I Click On a Message Title, But the Message Never Comes Up.   You have probably clicked the "Use Frames" button and have the top frame drug all the way to the bottom.  If you've done that, the "Use Frames" button will now say "Remove Frames".  Just click the "Remove Frames" button and it should fix your problem.

When I Try to Post a Message It Says I Need to Create a Profile, But I Already Did Create a Profile.  Click "Edit Profile" and make sure that you are typing your name in the "Post Message" form EXACTLY like it is in your profile.

I Need to Create a Profile, But I Do Not See the "Create Profile" Button.  If you need to create a profile, but all you see is the "Edit Profile" button (and not the "Create Profile" button), this means one of two things.

1. You or someone using your computer has already created a message board profile.

2. You or someone using your computer has attempted to post a message without creating a profile, and typed a name into the "Your Name" box.

In either case, the message board (via the i-TOWN cookie) thinks you have created a profile, so it no longer shows you the "Create Profile" button. If you need to create a new profile, you must go to any other website besides i-TOWN and then delete your computer's "cookies", or just the i-TOWN cookie . When your cookies are deleted go back to the message board, and the "Edit Profile" will now say "Create Profile". Click for help on deleting cookies.

I Posted a Message But My Message is Not Showing Up.   Your first message needs to be approved by an administrator. This may take up to 24 hours. Your future messages will be posted immediately. You can also try clicking the "Refresh" button on your browser if you don't see your message on the front page.

Netscape 7.  Netscape 7 has several bugs in it and is not a recommended browser to view the message board with. Netscape 6 works just fine.

TIPS

Save Password - The first time you post a message, you can click the "Save Password" box so you won't have to type (or remember) your password each time you post a message.

3. Change Your Password - If you go to "Edit Profile" you may change your randomly issued password to something easier to remember. Just type your current password in the top password box, and type the new password that you want in the bottom two boxes. Check "Save Password".
